NCAIS Website
Executive Director, Stephanie Keaney
As a nonprofit association established in 1970, we unite and support over 100 independent schools across North Carolina — with one additional member in South Carolina — fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth. Our community thrives not through uniformity, but through a shared commitment to educational excellence, core values, and every student's success. Whether faith-based or secular, day or boarding, single-gender or co-ed, each school contributes unique strengths, creating a rich tapestry of perspectives. Together, we serve over 50,000 students and empower more than 4,000 educators.
Guided by the principle that we are #BetterTogether, NCAIS serves as a hub for resources, advocacy, and professional development. From our earliest member, founded in 1772, to schools established in the 20th century, our network reflects deep tradition and forward-looking innovation. Each is a close-knit community dedicated to nurturing student achievement, lifelong learning, and service.

SCISA Website
Executive Director, Robert Braciszewski
The South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) is the collective voice for independent education in South Carolina and Georgia. Our 147 member schools serve approximately 36,000 students and 10,000 educators, representing a wide range of missions, sizes, and traditions united by a commitment to academic excellence and strong character.SCISA supports its members through four core areas: accreditation that promotes accountability and continuous improvement, professional development for teachers, administrators, and board members, athletic competition that builds sportsmanship and teamwork, and academic competition that celebrates student achievement.
Beyond these programs, SCISA advocates for independent schools and fosters collaboration among them, building a community stronger than any single school could be on its own. description
